Mailing Your Photos

Your photos can be shipped safely, if you package them carefully, by following the suggestions below. Use a reputable delivery service which will provide you with a tracking number and insurance.

Restoration can be done from an original print, negative or slide. If you have the photo in multiple formats (i.e. a print and negative), it is best to send them all. We will scan the various formats and work from whichever provides the best quality scan.

To send your photos safely, follow these steps:

  1. Place a piece of plain white paper over the face of the photo for protection.

  2. Sandwich the photo and paper between 2 sheets of cardboard.

  3. Tape the ends of the cardboard to hold the package firmly.

  4. If you are sending anything with glass, you should wrap it horizontally with bubble packing and then wrap another layer of bubble wrap vertically. This should then be placed in a box filled with Styrofoam peanuts. This method will offer maximum protection without adding much to the weight

  5. Printout and fill-in the “Restoration Quote Request" form and include it in your package.

  6. Mark the outside of your package: PHOTO ENCLOSED - DO NOT BEND.

  7. Use ONLY an overnight service such as FEDEX, Airborne, or UPS.

  8. Ship your photos to:
