The editing process requires three steps:
scanning/evaluating, repair, approval and output (printing,
saving to CD-ROM or posting for download).
SCANNING AND EVALUATING
The process begins once we receive your
original image. We first make a high resolution digital
scan. (The original may be either an original print, slide
or negative) Once the item is scanned, the original is safely
stored and will be returned to you with your newly restored
image. All work is done to the digitally scanned copy we
have created; your original is never altered and will be returned
to you packaged securely and in the same condition in which
it was received.
RECONSTRUCTION
Once scanned and evaluated, obvious spots,
cracks, stains and scratches are removed and the overall color
tone and contrast adjusted. Now, with a clear clean digital
image more involved re-creation and rebuilding can proceed.
Upon completion of the work, a private
webpage containing an onscreen version for you to proof will
be posted and you will be e-mailed the web address. From your
private web page, you can proof the completed work prior to
final output. (See a
sample
photo restoration approval page.)
OUTPUT
Once you have approved our workmanship,
you can choose from or combine the following output options:
- Photographic prints
- CD-ROM
- On-line Delivery
- 35mm slides
